#STANDFAST Charity Auction Results

The William Grant & Sons #STANDFAST Charity Auction came to a close last night in dramatic style. Over 300 items from the William Grant & Sons archive went under the hammer to raise funds for The Drinks Trust and The BEN Scotland. The auction included rare and aged whiskies from Glenfiddich, Tullamore D.E.W., Grant’s and The Balvenie. There were money can’t buy experiences such as distillery trips and blending masterclasses as well as bartending essentials from Monkey Shoulder, Hendrick’s, Sailor Jerry and Reyka Vodka.

A total of £100,409 was raised in support of the hospitality industry and helping get bartenders back to work.

Memorabilia

The Balvenie Morgan

The ultimate whisky lover’s car was the star lot of the auction, The Balvenie Morgan is the brainchild of David Stewart, the Malt Master at The Balvenie, and John Wells, the Head of Design at Morgan. Their collaboration produced The Balvenie Morgan, a 3.7 litre V6 four-seat roadster capable of 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds. The lot also included a VIP Factory Tour at Morgan with lunch for two and a hire car for the weekend. This has to be the greatest piece of memorabilia from this iconic Speyside distillery.

Experiences

Glenfiddich Distillery Trip

With so many fantastic experiences to choose from, there was hot competition for these once in a lifetime trips. Our favourite experience was the opportunity for the winning bidder and three guests to go behind the scenes at the Glenfiddich Distillery, hosted by a Glenfiddich Brand Ambassador and accompanied by William Grant & Sons’ Master Blender, Brian Kinsman.

Bottled at 48% ABV, it has notes of luxurious oak and sweet crème brûlée flavours, with soft spices, raw cane sugar and caramelised fruit.
