Glenfiddich 50 Year Old

An exceptionally rare, second release bottle of 50-year-old Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky. The whisky was bottled on 15 July, 2009, after spending five decades in Warehouse 8, maturing in 100% American and European oak casks. Significantly, this is the last Glenfiddich single malt to have had its barley malted in the distillery’s malt barns which closed in 1960. The entire bottle is also accentuated with Scottish silver and comes with a certificate of authenticity, as well as a book detailing both the bottle’s and the distillery’s history.

Bottle No.87.

Winning bid £10,400

Karuizawa 1971 Cask #6878

A 1971 vintage single malt from the legendary Karuizawa distillery, this was bottled in 2008 at a massive strength of 64.1% ABV. Malt Maniacs loved this bottling so much that it took home one of five gold medals at their 2008 awards.

Winning bid £3,200

One of a pair of mirror-image labelled bottles released at The Whisky Show 2014. This is the bourbon-matured half of the duo. Karuizawa was founded in 1955 and was Japan’s smallest whisky distillery. In 1959, they became the first distillery to export whisky overseas. Sadly, Karuizawa distillery stopped production in 2000 and closed for good in 2011.

Winning bid £2,500

Glenfiddich 30 Year Old

A very rare crystal decanter of Glenfiddich 30 Year Old with a solid-silver stag’s head stopper. As this was bottled in the 1980s, it contains whisky distilled in the 1950s.

Winning bid £1,800

Macallan 1955 Rinaldi

A vintage 1955 bottle of Macallan, which we estimate was bottled in the 1970s by Rinaldi. Whiskyfun.com described this bottling as ‘close to perfection’ as it scored an enormous 95 points.
