Black Bowmore 1964 Final Edition – Suntory Australia

A picture of Black Bowmore is worth a thousand words but…
This final edition of Black Bowmore 1964 was imported to Australia by Suntory (Aust.) Pty. Ltd.
The Bowmore distillery underwent an extensive upgrade in late 1963, and this bottling comes from the first distillation following the conversion.
This Bowmore was matured in oloroso sherry casks for 31 years before bottling in 1995. Each bottle is numbered and signed by the then distillery manager, James McColl.

Winning bid £10,900

Hakushu 1989 The Owner’s Cask

The early 21st century was a time of crisis for the Japanese whisky industry. While smaller distilleries Karuizawa and Hanyu did not survive, Suntory launched its own bid to increase sales. In November 2004 the ‘Owner’s Cask’ program, a parcel of 103 casks, was made available to individuals and small businesses.
Thanks to improving fortunes the program ended in 2010, but it’s not too late to pick up bottle number 22 of the 164 that was taken from this Owner’s Cask of 1989 Hakushu in 2006.

Winning bid £1,350
