Isabel Graham-Yooll is an authority on the workings of the booming secondary market for spirits and wines. In her position as director of Whisky.Auction she has championed the interests of the consumer against fraudsters and fakers, making the auction the most trusted specialist online spirits auction in the world. Graham-Yooll started, like many others in the industry today, working at Oddbins before joining Jeroboams, where she became spirits buyer for the famous Milroy’s of Soho shop founded by Jack and Wallace Milroy. She was responsible for a series of acclaimed and award-winning bottlings (which now command a high price among collectors) before moving to Bordeaux Index as Spirits Buyer. She took up to her current role in 2016. View posts by Isabel »
Jeremy has worked in the wines and spirits industry since a chance Christmas job in Harrod's wine cellar in 1994 first fired his interest in rare bottles. Stints at Oddbins, Selfridges and Berry Brothers followed, along with international experience working for a variety of retailers and wineries in Australia and France. During seven years managing the wine and spirits shop at Harvey Nichols he further developed his interest in Scotch whisky - visiting no fewer than 19 distilleries in as many months - while walking most of Scotland's National Trails. Roberto was raised in Staines, just west of London, and began working in the drinks trade at 18 at Threshers. A talented musician, he completed a music degree in 2010. He then returned to London and spent three years with French wine merchant Nicolas, where he developed a love of wine and a keen interest in spirits. The Whisky Exchange was his next stop; here he discovered the world of old and rare spirits with a particular focus on whisky and Cognac. Roberto joined Whisky.Auction in 2016. Nick Morgan’s career as a historian was rudely interrupted by a thirty-year, award-winning spell in the Scotch whisky business. His first role was establishing an historical archive for United Distillers (now the largest archive of historical material relating to alcoholic beverages in the world), after which he deftly side-stepped into marketing. With the formation of Diageo he became Global Marketing Director for Single Malt Whiskies, managing the largest portfolio of malts in the world, including brands such as Lagavulin, Talisker, Clynelish and Caol Ila. After more than twelve years in this role he was appointed Head of Whisky Outreach, affectionately known to some as ‘Diageo’s human shield.’ In 2017 he received the IWSC Outstanding Achievement in Scotch Whisky award. Having left Diageo he has now returned to the relative sanity of the past, and recently published A Long Stride (2020), the official history of Johnnie Walker, and in 2021 Everything You Need to Know About Whisky But Are Too Afraid to Ask. He writes regularly for the Master of Malt blog and others about Scotch whisky and other spirits. In 2021 he received an Honorary Fellowship from the Institute of Philosophy at the University of London. View posts by Nick »
